AppSec Championships is a quiz designed to test the knowledge of the participants (the “Participant(s)“). The quiz competition will be held in accordance with these official rules (the “Rules“) of this competition listed hereinafter: 

REGISTRATION FOR “AppSec Championships” CONSTITUTES YOUR ACCEPTANCE OF THESE OFFICIAL RULES: 

ORGANISER: AppSec Championships is organized by Bright Security (hereinafter referred to as “Bright“).

ELIGIBILITY FOR PARTICIPATING IN AppSec Championships: AppSec Championships is open to everyone willing to participate and subject to applicable laws and regulations (the “Participants”). 

BINDING AGREEMENT: In order to enter AppSec Championships, entrants must accept these Rules. The Participant should read these Rules carefully prior to entry to ensure that he/she understands and agrees, because these Rules form a legally binding agreement with respect to AppSec Championships. 

APPSEC CHAMPIONSHIPS COMPETITION:

  • The AppSec Championships started on June 1, 2023, and will last until terminated by Bright. Bright reserves the right to end the quiz at any time. 
  • AppSec Championships will consist of a set  number of quizzes throughout each particular fiscal quarter, though Bright reserves the right to remove and add quizzes at its own discretion. Every quarter of a calendar year will have an unspecified number of quizzes, and the number of quizzes can vary from quarter to quarter. 
  • Every Participant is allowed to complete each quiz only once. Having multiple accounts or personas shall be considered a violation of these Rules, and thus any suspicious emails, duplicates, or cheats will be disqualified from the competition.
  • The person with the most points in each separate fiscal quarter is the winner of the quarterly award.
  • In case two or more participants get the same number of points in a quarter (of a calendar year), the winner will be the participant that completed its last quiz the fastest. 
  • If Bright determines the winner is not eligible or if a Participant is not able (for whatever reason) to accept his/her prize, Bright  will pick a new winner who meets the eligibility requirements and has the most points after the disqualified participant. 
  • The AppSec Championships has started on June 1, 2023, and will last until terminated by Bright. Bright reserves the right to end the quiz at any time. 
  • Prize details for each quarter will be publicized on Bright’s social media channels. 
  • All participants must be able to be verified as real persons, otherwise, the referral prize won’t be awarded. 
  • A winner will be selected at the end of each fiscal quarter (fiscal year from February 1st to January 31st), at a time determined by Bright.
  • The approx. retail value of each prize for the winner of the quarter: $500 USD.
  • There will be no prize substitutions. Prizes are not redeemable for cash value.
  • Winners are responsible to pay any applicable income taxes on prizes as required by local and federal law. 
  • The winner will be contacted directly via email. In case the winner doesn’t reply within 20 days, Bright keeps the right to change the winner to the next highest-scoring Participant.  
  • Participant hereby agrees that if Participant wins a prize in the AppSec Championships, Bright may share the awarded Participant’s name on Bright’s social media channels.
  • Prices and restricted to services based in the United States, Canada, The United Kingdom, and the European Union
  • Bright reserves the right to substitute prize(s) of an equivalent value should the AppSec Championships prizes become unavailable for any reason.
  •  Any prize(s) that remain unclaimed at the end of 30 days from the announcement of the final results will become canceled.
  • Bright does not assume any responsibility and will not be liable for any products and services offered as prize under the AppSec Championships. Under no circumstances shall the inclusion of any product or service in the AppSec Championships be construed as an endorsement or recommendation of such product or service by Bright.
  • EXCEPT FOR WARRANTIES AND CONDITIONS IMPLIED BY LAW WHICH CANNOT BE EXCLUDED, BRIGHT MAKES NO REPRESENTATIONS OR WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, REGARDING THE QUALITY OR SUITABILITY OF ANY PRIZES AWARDED UNDER THESE RULES. 

OTHER CONDITIONS GENERAL CONDITIONS: All national, state and local laws and regulations apply. Bright reserves the right to disqualify any Participant from the AppSec Championships if, in Bright’s sole discretion, it reasonably believes that the Participant has attempted to undermine the legitimate operation of the AppSec Championships by cheating, deception, or other unfair playing practices or annoys, abuses, threatens or harasses. 

PRIVACY: Participants agree that personal data submitted with an entry, including name, mailing address, phone number, and email address may be collected, processed, stored and otherwise used by Bright, its affiliates and the consultants for the purposes of conducting and administering the AppSec Championships. By entering the AppSec Championships, participants agree to the transmission, processing, disclosing and storage of this personal data by Bright, its affiliates and the consultants. By participating in the AppSec Championships, Participentconsent to the possible use of their name, photo and/or likeness for advertising and promotional purposes, without additional compensation, except where prohibited.

PUBLICITY: ELIMINATION: Any false information provided within the context of the AppSec Championships by participant concerning identity, mailing address, telephone number, email address, ownership of right or non-compliance with these Rules or the like may result in the immediate elimination of the Participant from the AppSec Championships. 

INTERNET AND DISCLAIMER: Bright and its consultant are not responsible for any malfunction of the entire AppSec Championships site or any late, lost, damaged, misdirected, incomplete, illegible, undeliverable, answers to system errors, failed, incomplete or garbled computer or other telecommunication transmission malfunctions, network connectivity problems, hardware or software failures of any kind. 

RIGHT TO CANCEL, MODIFY OR DISQUALIFY: If for any reason the AppSec Championships is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of the AppSec Championships, Bright reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the AppSec Championships. Bright further reserves the right to disqualify any entrant who tampers with the submission process or any other part of the AppSec Championships.
